From Highway I-95:
Take the Exit Number 318 (old exit #95) onto Rte 16 east, go five miles Turn right onto Route 1, go two miles.
Turn left on King Street (following signs for Historic St. Augustine), go about 1 mile. Turn left at the end of the city park "Plaza" onto Charlotte Street, go one block.  We are on the corner of Charlotte and Treasury Streets.----- BEWARE! if you get onto the Bridge of Lion's ---you've gone too far ---

You may also conceivably end up on A1A headed into town, in that case, turn right just before the light near the bridge, then take an immediate right onto Charlotte street.

Parking:  Parking is notoriously hard to find in St. Augustine!  Directly behind the Pirate Haus is a Public Metered Parking Lot.  You pay at a kiosk which takes credit cards and/or cash and operate Monday-Saturday 8AM (Sharp!) to 5PM.  They cost $1.50 cents per hour  with a four hour maximum.  Parking in this lot is free on Sundays and Holidays.  Some metered on street parking is available too, for $1.50 per hour with a 3-hour limit.  For our Private Room guests, we have a couple of spaces right next to the building, on Treasury Street.  Please call for availability (we assume no liability for falling pecans.)

---- Parking from 5PM to 7AM on Monday-Friday, 7 AM onwards on Saturday, and all day Sunday and Holidays (about $8) in the Wachovia lot in front of our building. 

From the St. Augustine Greyhound Bus Station -Greyhound will drop off St. Augustine bound customers at the Visitor's Information Center on Orange Street.  This is about a 5-minute walk to the Pirate Haus.  Just walk down St. George street and take a left on Treasury Street.  We are the last building on the left.  If you've got a lot of luggage, we can usually provide a lift from 8AM to 5PM.  Onward travel on Greyhound can be purchased at the 'T' market on San Marco Avenue, a short walk away.

From the Jacksonville Amtrak Train Station

Note: For public transportation buses you must have exact change, usually $1 to $1.50.  The drivers cannot make change!

When arriving in Jacksonville AMTRAK STATION take the M4 Bus to Downtown (Rosa Parks Station) (buses every 30 minutes, 45 minutes travel time).  Transfer to the L7 Bus and get off at the Avenues Mall (1 hour travel time).  From the Avenues Mall, take the Sunshine Bus  ($1).  Ask the driver to let you off at US1 and King Street.  From King street, you pass the ABC liquors store and head into town, take a left on Charlotte and we're about a block in.  If you have a lot of luggage try giving us a call at 904-808-1999, we may be able to pick you up.  Otherwise, after you cross a small bridge, take a left onto Malaga Street. There are usually cabs parked there near the Diner and they can take you the 300 meters to the Pirate Haus.

From the Palatka Amtrak Train Station

The Southbound trains arrive at approx 7AM and 10AM.  The early Northbound train arrives at 3PM  (The late Northbound train arrives at 9PM, and I don't think most people would want to stay overnight in Palatka.)  Wait for the Ride Solution van at 5PM.  This will take you to the St. Augustine Kmart, travel time approximately 1 hour though I do think they make a stop at the Visitor Information Center in town.  From Kmart call the Pirate Haus at 904-808-1999, we MAY be able to pick you up, if not you'll have to take a cab 827-9273 for about ($6-7).Depending on what time you arrive in Palatka, you may have some waiting to do.  You can cross the main street into town and get a bite to eat, shop at the thrift stores, or head over to River City Gun range and rent a .45 caliber handgun and shoot some targets ($20/hour plus pistol rental and ammo)

From the Jacksonville Int'l Airport (JAX)

The best option is to take a direct shuttle, but you have to reserve ahead of time, cost depends on arrival time:

Dorm beds are always $22, tax included

Sun-Thurs (non holidays):     Room with Private Bath: $60-75 plus tax

Fri-Sat (non holidays) :    Room with Private Bath: $85-$95 plus tax

Holidays and special events:  Room with Private Bath: $90-110 plus tax

Extra people 13 and over:  $5 plus tax.  Extra people 12 & under:  $3
